Request Reduced Pesticide Use in Your Community

The power to change a community's pest control practices lies in the hands of its citizens. A single letter or phone call means a great deal to decision makers.

If you are considering writing a letter or making a phone call requesting reduced pesticide use in your community, we encourage you to do so. LocalMotion has created two sample letters that can simply be signed and sent to city and school officials, or that can serve as a model for your own letter.

Attending and voicing concerns at Parent Teacher Associations/Organizations, school board, and city council meetings are effective ways to show local officials that you are interested in having a community in which every effort has been made to protect the health and safety of its citizens, including children.

If you want pesticide use to be reduced in your community, it will happen. But, you have to ask for it. We encourage you to ask your neighbors and friends to do the same. Please do not hesitate to contact LocalMotion if you have any questions or would like further information.

LocalMotion is available to speak to Parent Teacher Associations/Organizations, school boards, and city councils in the Metro Detroit area (Southeast Michigan).

For more information on reducing pesticide use in schools go to LocalMotion's Safe Schools page.
